The Creator of heaven and earth introduced Himself to humanity through work, and upon completion, He declared His work to be good. “Then God saw everything that He had made and indeed it was very good.” The Lord of heaven and earth created man and entrusted him with the responsibility of tending and keeping the garden. After assessing His creation, the Lord through His distinctions formed a woman from the rib of a man, based on the principle that “it is not good for man to be alone, I will make him a helper, comparable to him”
This act underscores the importance of teamwork—seeking counsel, adhering firmly to instruction, practicing accountability, to establish trust, integrity, and mutual respect in the fear of God. God’s expectation is that man, and woman by faith would share responsibility in pursuing a common purpose, commit that purpose to the Lord so that it might be established by Him, and work together as a unified team who imitates God in every good word and works in Christ for His glory and praise.
“Then the Lord God placed the man in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it, granting him the work of taxonomy—classifying and naming every living creature—so that through this very search, it would become evident that man was alone and in need of a helper for his glory. Selah.”
Work is a gift from God, given to humanity to steward the works of His hands. As God’s workmanship, created in Christ, humanity is expected to leverage the gifts He has placed within each person to contribute to and accomplish His predetermined plans and purposes on the earth for His glory. God blessed man to be fruitful, to multiply, to have dominion on the earth, and to bring forth abundance by faith through work as a moral obligation. Man was created to work as depicted in the parable of talents for continuous growth and accountability, to maintain good work, which is good and profitable for men.
The Son of man is going to come in His Father’s glory with his angels and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
Work is a heritage from God, given to man as a joyful expression of His heart. It is a worthy cause through which humanity shares in God’s responsibilities on the earth by faith. Through work, people improve the quality of their lives, increase their dignity, and cultivate a sense of purpose. Work enables individuals to become value‑added, solution‑oriented co‑workers with God, Selah. While earning a living or making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. In this way, work leads to a fulfilled life that pleases, praises, and glorifies God. Paul and his fellow workers, led by the Spirit of the Lord, labored together with God to plant, build, and water the churches, and God Himself added to their number those who were being saved, providing the growth. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Likewise, Christ demonstrated this through His works, as a humble servant leader motivated by love, trained His disciples through mentorship, reflection, and delegation of authority and power, through the Holy Spirit, to be effective witnesses of truth while serving others. With the command to “go and do likewise,” His ministry produced fruits worthy of the kingdom of God that the people testified that Jesus Christ, did all thing well, to the glory of God.
This act underscores the importance of a collaborative work environment—one in which people cultivate a strong work ethic, integrity, respect and where differences of opinion are welcomed and encouraged rather than reprimanded. A collaborative environment reinforces division of labor while fostering a shared pursuit of excellence. Through collaboration, individuals learn from one another, gain insight, and leverage their collective strengths to complete a project with good success. This process serves as evidence of fruitfulness and multiplication in the fulfillment of God’s purpose. In working with God, humanity is graciously granted autonomy to imitate His works “for the common good,” in the fear of God, while continually Upskilling and Reskilling their gifts through the Lord of the Harvest apprenticeship, leveraging current technologies. This ongoing development equips individuals to serve the purposes of God’s Kingdom with greater impact and influence on the earth through work, ultimately improving the dignity and quality of lives to be saved.
Work is a reward from God, a just path that reveals work is not simply economic—it is sacred, given by God as a blessing and a right for man to enjoy. Because man is made in the image and likeness of God, their labor carries inherent dignity, and the way they are compensated becomes a moral act that reflects—or distorts—God’s ways of righteousness. God rewards each person according to their labor, without partiality. This divine pattern highlights the importance of fair wages in the workplace: wages without delay, transparent wages, and wages that reward skilled workers according to their expertise, new or seasoned workers according to their contribution. Quality of work is recognized, not exploited, because God Himself does not do things haphazardly, but model a righteous path rooted in justice, mercy and faith. Employers appointed by God should imitate His just path: fair compensation is not optional—it is an act of obedience. When employers fairly compensate workers, they honor God; when they are dishonest or diminish wages, they oppose God who defends the laborer. The consequence of not reflecting God’s justly in the workplace is both spiritual and practical. When workers are hindered from labor, trust is broken, productivity declines, and wages are exploited, these injustices provoke the Lord’s swift witness against employers. But when workplaces repent and follow God’s just path—valuing people, rewarding labor rightly, and treating fair compensation as a sacred responsibility—nations flourish, nations are liberated, restraint of lawlessness, and God is glorified with praise and thanksgiving.
